Can we request to have a certain coach or to be on the same team with a friend?

You can make any request that you wish in the comment section of your child’s registration form. However, please be aware that those requests are not guaranteed. We will always keep siblings together (unless otherwise directed) but nothing else can be promised. Our teams are formed in a draft based on a point system to try to make them as even and fair as possible, so the coaches must consider that first and foremost. Our coaches always try to honor any request they can, but that’s not always possible.

Where will the games take place?

The majority of the games will take place at the Winfield Little League fields behind Winfield Elementary School. Some divisions will have a lower number of teams, which leads us to having to schedule games with other surrounding leagues. If we schedule with other leagues there will be some games occurring at their fields as well, but we always try to make sure those are relatively close for travel purposes.

How can I sponsor my child’s team?

The Winfield Little League couldn’t operate without our amazing sponsors. If you would like to sponsor a team or even just to have a sign on a fence, you can fill out the form located HERE.

Does my child have to try out for a team?

We do not have tryouts in our league. Every child who registers will be placed on a team. However, we do hold player evaluations once registration is complete. This is simply a chance for the coaches to see and evaluate the skill level of each child. Coaches will then participate in a draft where they will choose players based on what they saw at evaluations. This is the best way to make the teams as even and fair as possible. If your child cannot attend player evaluations they will still be placed on a team, but we highly recommend attending if at all possible to help the coaches make their best decisions.
